A Finished Top

When I saw this fabric I knew I wanted a quilt for myself
out of it.
The teal, lime green and grey looked so nice together
not to mention the print of the fabric.
So I went into EQ and put something together
and bought some fabric to play along with it.

Then I just couldn't bring myself to chop the print up.
I didn't want to loose any of the design
so.....
this is what I did instead.
it is simple but I like this much better.
Now to get it loaded and quilted...
hummm.....
what do I quilt on it?????

Snowflakes for Sandy Hook and 1st Sunset of 2013 on the Beach

I hope this was a good day for everyone. I just have a feeling that this is going to be a good year.
It has to be better then last year - Right???

I made some snowflakes for the children at Sandy Hill.
I really hoped to make more but ran out of time.
If you haven't already heard about the winter wonderland
you can read all about it here

Embroidery Library offered this snowflake in thee sizes for
free last month

this one is free

and this one from

and now that I went to that link I see that I am a little slow
I found this update.

Thank you to everyone who has donated snowflakes on behalf of the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School and the community of Newtown. We know that each snowflake represents the emotional outreach of the person making it. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from around not just the country but the world. At this time, we have enough beautiful snowflakes to blanket the community of Newtown. Therefore, with regret we must close the snowflake project to further donations

But that is Great News right?
People are Wonderful.

so I guess I have a head start on snowflakes for my Christmas tree next year.

now I will leave you with the first sun set of 2013 here on the beach
as you can see here in this picture we have some fog
and cloud's so we won't be able to see it
set on the water
but it is still beautiful
and there it goes

Saints Quilt

I hope you had a nice Christmas!!
I know I did.
Lot's of family
and so much fun!!!

Here is a simple quilt I made for my brother-in-law

It really looks better in person

I used a very simple panto with gold thread

and I used the gold solid for the backing.
This quilt went together and quilted up so fast.

I hope you have the best year ever ahead of you!!
Stay safe!!

A King Quilt for Me

I made this colorful quilt for my bedroom

The best part is
I used mostly fabrics I already had on hand
(oops, I took this picture upside down)

It has made my bedroom so bright and cheery!
I am so happy with the way it turned out.

Three More

Last year I found a really cute fabric panel with doctors and nurses called Nurse Central. I added some fabric from my stash and made a quilt for my doctor.   I just love my doctor, She doesn't rush through visits and she really cares about her patients.
Anyhow, she loved it so much. This year when I went back for my checkup she asked to buy three just like the one I made for her.
And here they are -
I cut the panel apart, sewed a border around each
block and used white sashing
I used the same fabric for all three
quilts but arranged them just a little
different
I was so lucky, they had just reprinted the fabric

this panel has the cutest pictures

I quilted little hearts all over it (panto)

as usual I had so much fun making these quilts.

Sewing is SO much fun!!!

Christmas Package Quilt

this cute little quilt was made from a quilt kit from Connecting Threads

I really wanted to get this one finished before Christmas and
only needed to stitch down the applique and do the
quilting and with an eye infection (hard to see) I did this.
haha!! Not such a good job on the bow stitching
but it is for me so that is good enough.

the fabric is so cute
and so is the design

I like that it is not the traditional Christmas colors

I used a snowflake panto and like the way it turned out.
the quilting showed up so much better before it was
washed but i do love this look much better.
and I thought I'd introduce you to my little buddy
Fritzy
he likes to follow me around and see what I'm up to.
I went into a pet store to get some dog treats and
came out with this sweet little fellow.
I was only going to carry him around with
me while I shopped for my doggie goodies
But he was so darn sweet.
He came from the local humane society and
was born on March 11, the same day as my
hubby and granddaughter.
Gosh he is growing so fast!!
