Quilts for My Daughters

I thought I had posted pictures of this quilt but I didn't. This is another finish for 2016.

this quilt was inspired by the Bestie quilt's  I made for my granddaughters.
I made 2 of these- one for each daughter.

I found the embroidery designs at Bunnycup Embroidery
and thought they were so cute I could hardly wait to use them.

you may remember this design from the pillow
covers I made for my sisters

I found this Pearls & Lace Heart from Hang to Dry and it
seemed perfect for this quilt.

I hope you are having lots of fun doing the things you like to do.

Bestie Quilt

I found some cute fabric panels and had to make some Bestie quilts for my four granddaughters.
I think it turned out so cute!
here are the finished quilts together

I was lucky enough to find a machine embroidery
design like the panel and stitched it up
with Nene Loves Ya under it
(I was Mimi but the grandkids changed it to Nene, lol)

these quilts were made first to give as Christmas gifts
then I thought they were so cute  I had to make the
quilts I already showed you for my son and two daughters.
Now my daughter wants me to make a rag quilt for my
granddaughters bed so that will be next and I want to
join the swoon quilt along on instagram and I still have
a few quilts that need to be quilted and ....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and the New Year
ahead holds lots of good thing for you!!!

Penguin Cheer Quilt Finished

Yes I did finish my Penguin Cheer Quilt in time for Christmas, I just didn't get around to showing you.

and here is the back, it isn't vertical on the quilt
it's just the way I pulled it up for the picture.
It's hard to fold over for picture taking with one hand
and without getting a shadow of you in the picture. haha

I made this rag quilt for my son's birthday in July.
I'm so happy with the way this one turned out.

VW Bug Rag Quilt

I made this rag quilt for my sweet granddaughter Madison,
I think it turned out so cute!
She got her driver's license this year
and drives a little white VW bug.
When I found this applique I knew I had to make her a quilt

I put a little white VW on every  row

and added her personalized plate that she has

I was lucky enough to find this flannel to use for the back of the quilt

I was happy with the way the quilt turned out and
she loved it!!!
I like the way the color from the backing show's in the ragged seams on the front.
I finished this quilt in July and just haven't found time to show it to you yet.
I still have a few more to show you.

Some Crochet Squares and a Little Rabbit

I
I've been busy trying to finish up a
crochet blanket for my grand-daughter

I pinned this block from Pinterest and wanted to make
it with pink, grey and white yarn for myself, but then my
grand-daughter saw it and asked me to make it for her.
How could I say no to that sweet, pretty face????
She picked out the yarn and I started to crochet.
This is will be my first granny square blanket.
It has been good practice and I have learned a lot.
I can't say that I will still be making my blanket though - hehe!

When we bought our beach house I never thought we would have a
rabbit living under our stairs. I never thought rabbits lived at the beach.
I'm a little jealous that he gets to live there and I have to go back and
forth - (giggle)
There was even a Mama fox with her babbies last year. I haven't
seen them this year but it was fun watching them grow up.

I hope you are having a fun day!

Other Projects

I found a free pattern for a yoga bag and made one as
a fathers day gift for my father-in-law.

It went together super easy and was a fun project to make.
I've also been doing a little crocheting at night while watching TV

this is a simple little throw I've been working on.
I've never used variegated yarn before so I decided to give it a try
with a simple v stitch. I don't hate it, but don't think I will use
 variegated any more.
And
I thought I'd show you my hook case I made to keep my crochet hooks
all nice and tidy.
I added a little slot on the outside to hold my scissors close and
easy to get to while crocheting.
Don't look too close at my Velcro - haha
I can NEVER get my stitches to look nice when sewing Velcro so
I have just given up.
Any tips??

I love my crochet case.
It makes me happy every time I pick it up.
As a bonus I don't have to open it every time I
continue working on my project, my needle, scissors, and hook
are all on the outside of the case waiting to be used.
(I just tuck my hook into the strap on the outside of the case, you
can see a peek of it in the first picture - its orange)
I also have another blanket I'm working on for my grand-daughter.
I'll share that one later.

I hope you are having  a fun day!
