Another Rag Quilt

I have had this fabric for so long - just sitting there waiting to become a quilt.
I have so many quilt tops waiting for me to long arm so I decided to make another rag quilt - besides it is so much fun to make and goes together so fast - I even enjoy snipping the seams - I find it so relaxing.

I've already given it to my cute little grand-daughter.
It's so good to be sewing!!!

A Teacher's Rag Quilt

I made this rag quilt for a very special teacher.
Her first year as a teacher she taught my son
in her kindergarten class
She is still teaching and also driving a school bus now

and has taught 3 of my grandchildren

When I saw these Dear Teacher designs at Bunnycup Embroidery
I knew I had to make her a quilt.
She is such a wonderful teacher!!!!

I didn't center all the designs, I was trying to make the quilt look child like

I hope she loves this quilt as much as we love her

A Very Simple Quilt

This quilt went together so fast and was simple and so much fun to make
I used a couple of fat quarter bundle's from Hobby Lobby
and this free pattern Fresh and Fruity
but I did make mine bigger so it can be used as a nap quilt.

and I quilted it with just simple straight lines.
I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Sweet Life

Here is a quilt I made from this book - Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley.
It's home is one of the guest rooms at our beach house on a queen size bed.

I didn't get a good picture showing the whole quilt
but I will share what I have

I made this quilt in Sept. 2014

please excuse the wrinkles
I guess I left it in the dryer a little too long
(I told you I was crazy busy last year haha!)

I just love the crabs

and the back
I'm not too crazy about how this panto looks sewed out

I probably won't use it again

The quilt went together so easy and fast
and
It looks so nice in the room too

Nautical Flags Quilt

My sister-in-law saw some nautical flags pictured on the internet and asked if I could make her a queen size quilt. I opened my EQ software and got busy.
This quilt was fun to make. I tried to place the flags on the quilt
so when she did her fold down at the top all the flags would show
and only a few would be repeated
this is the back
sorry for the awful picture
I was in such a hurry I was lucky to even get a picture of this quilt
I thought simple straight line ruler work would show off the blocks best
and my sister-in-law was very happy with the way it turned out.
She said it looked exactly as she imagined it to be.

Another Baby Quilt

Here is another quilt I made for the new (a year old next month) little one in our life.

I saw this quilt pinned on my daughters pinterest board and
loved it. I found where it was published in
but didn't have the issue so I was inspired to make up
my own. I love the way it turned out.

this quilt was so much fun to make
after I made the quilt I found the pattern available
for purchase if you would like to make one

Christmas Quilt

2014 was a crazy busy year for me. I did manage to make a few quilts just not much time to blog.
So I guess I'll start off where I left off.
This is the boy version of the Christmas Quilt I showed for the girls.
I wanted to give these quilts out at Thanksgiving in 2013 but ran out of time
and almost didn't make it again in 2014 but I did and was SO happy!
I made 2 with girl colors for my daughters
and this one with the traditional colors for my son. I was happy
with all three of them, and the kids were happy with them too.
These cute embroidery designs came from

even though I did each design 3 times I never got tired of it
(see the red string under the white fabric?? I sure hope I
removed it before I gifted the quilt, I'll have to check)

I had so much fun making these quilts.

Until next time - Carol
