Two more quilts for The Wounded Soldiers

I have had these two quilts made for several months
now and am ashamed to say I am just getting
around to quilting them.
The quilts are made narrow to stay out of
the way of IVs and medical equipment
while the soldiers are on stretchers and being
taken to hospitals to get the medical attention they need
the back
I didn't have enough fabric so I left off the
stars on this one.  I think I might like it better.

and the back.

If you are interested in making any quilts you can read
about it
just click onto the tab that says Projects
and look for Stitches of Love.
You should also find an email address to find
out more.
They have so many fun projects to make.
The soliders need so many things.

I hope you have a fun week-end!!!

Star Quilt

I had so much fun making this quilt

and I just love the rain boots
they are so cute

pink and green with a touch of black

this was my first time using this panto -
it is called "Glamorous" by willow leaf
I think it's a good fit for this quilt
I'm happy with the way it turned out
although I still need more practice

Jelly Roll Quilt

I made this quilt with a jelly roll of "Oh Deer" by Moda
I have a lot of precuts in my fabric stash.
I think I am going to use them up and not buy any more.
I don't like the way the birds head is chopped off.
I was originally making this quilt as a gift but there
was no way I would give something like this as a gift.
I also find with the precuts the cuts are not accurate.
You can't count on all of the stack being cut at 2 1/2,
or 5 inches or 10 inches, etc.
I wish I wouldn't have bought so many.
I did get a good deal on them, and loved how you get so
many different fabrics but it's not worth it to me.
Am I the only one that feels this way??
Here is the back.
I have an accuquilt cutter so I guess I will just start
cutting my own.

Another Mustache Quilt

 Cute little polka-dot mustaches

and isn't this mustache fabric just sooo cute?!!
Already washed and crinkly - just the way
we like our quilts.

the border

and the backing fabric

and a lamp that will go in the room.
I'm helping my daughter fix up my sweet little granddaughters room.
She's going from the little girl to young teen look.
I'll take some picture of the room after we finish and
let you see how it looks.

A Finish and a Start

I have been having fun sewing at the beach again. I have finished a quilt top . . . .

and am trying to start another one

He is just too funny. I can't tell you how many times I've
had to pick him up off of my projects.

I guess it's a good thing that at home my sewing space is separate
from our home .
I don't think I'd like this little guy jumping up on my quilt
while I am trying to longarm quilt it.
He always has to be all up in my business - lol

Cute Little Birdie

A nice cheerful quilt
aren't these birds just so cute!!

the back
now how did I miss that long thread?

I don't know what I like the most - buying the fabric - putting
the quilt top together - or quilting it on the longarm.
It's all so much fun!

One for my Sister

This was a fun one to make.
It is for my sister. I hope she likes it.

I wanted to take a close up of the stitching before washing
it, but someone else had other plans. As soon as I laid it
down he had to come try it out.

I used white thread on top and red in the bobbin. It worked
out pretty good. I did see a little of the red on top in places
through the needle holes
but after I washed it and the thread snuggled in
all was fine. (this is a picture before washing)
and this is the back.
Now to get it boxed up and in the mail.

I am finishing up another one so pictures to come soon!
