Frozen Quilt

I made this quilt back in December 2014. I didn't blog about it because I kept thinking I would get a picture of it on the bed in my granddaughters Frozen bedroom. Her bedroom turned out so cute!!

I made the border a little wider at the top so the design is
centered when the top of the quilt is folded down

and I appliqued her name onto the top

and added some pretty polka dots to the back

I hope you are enjoying your week-end
doing the things you like to do!!!

Lap Quilt for the Beach

Another quilt that was so much fun to make......well, I don't think I have ever met a quilt that wasn't fun to make

fabric with sunglasses and beach chairs is just perfect
to kick back in a recliner and snuggle up with
while at the beach

and the bright colors I love so much
make it even better

the fabric line is Sanibel by Moda.
and here is a look at the back.

I hope you have a fun week-end doing the things you enjoy!

Deer Quilt

I love this quilt! The bright colors - oh the bright colors I do love.
My son asked me for a king size quilt and I started buying fabric
right away. Well I kept buying fabric
(I know I was going about this backwards, haha!)
 but couldn't decide what
pattern I was going to use until I saw this one.

then I cut one out and appliqued it onto a square.
What???? I have to do 70 of these??? This is going
to take me forever..... then
I did a little bit of searching on the internet
and found this deer made for machine applique
YES
It still took quite a bit of time but it was much faster and
Well worth the effort.

Bird Quilt

This is a quilt top I put together a long time ago and finally quilted it
I just love this little bird it is so cute!!

this pattern is for a table runner but I wanted to
use it double to make a quilt and I'm so glad I did
it is super cute, the picture really doesn't do it justice.
I used the same fabric for the backing that I used in the border.
I have another really cute quilt coming up that I made for my son
so stay tuned!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week-end!

Another Rag Quilt

I have had this fabric for so long - just sitting there waiting to become a quilt.
I have so many quilt tops waiting for me to long arm so I decided to make another rag quilt - besides it is so much fun to make and goes together so fast - I even enjoy snipping the seams - I find it so relaxing.

I've already given it to my cute little grand-daughter.
It's so good to be sewing!!!

A Teacher's Rag Quilt

I made this rag quilt for a very special teacher.
Her first year as a teacher she taught my son
in her kindergarten class
She is still teaching and also driving a school bus now

and has taught 3 of my grandchildren

When I saw these Dear Teacher designs at Bunnycup Embroidery
I knew I had to make her a quilt.
She is such a wonderful teacher!!!!

I didn't center all the designs, I was trying to make the quilt look child like

I hope she loves this quilt as much as we love her
