My Last Quilt this Trip

Sadly it's time to put away my sewing machine, fold up my cutting table and take the ironing board back to the closet.  it's time to start cleaning and packing to go back to MS.

I just finished this one and it is ready to take back and quilt on the longarm. The blue fabric with the large hot pink flowers is another one I found that I didn't want to cut up. I found a nice pattern in the book "Stop, Drop and Roll" by Heather Mulder Peterson that I liked. I did change it up just a tad but not much.

Isn't this little birdie so cute!! It is a machine applique that you can find at
called 'Sweet Tweets' I am going to make a baby quilt with the whole set, I think it will look adorable.

Please excuse all the wrinkles. I don't press my tops here at the beach. They are just going to be packed up into a tub to go back home. I'll take them out one at a time, give them a good press then load them on the longarm and finish them up. Lately I've been doing more sewing here, then quilting there so I have so many tops waiting for me. Hopefully I'll be showing you some finished quilts soon!!

Until later -- Carol

What I Saw When I Looked Up

I took my work to the ironing board to iron, then when I looked up this is what I saw --

I just love sewing at the beach!!!!

I was asked for my pattern for my big block quilt so I added a page for Tutorial and Patterns.
I am new at this so I hope I did it right. If you have any problems or questions please let me know.

What I Have Been Working On

My granddaughter asked me to make her a Mustache
quilt.
A few days later she asked me if I had made it yet.
No, not yet --
well, I would like for you to add some baby Llama's to it
too please.--
I will try but don't know if I will be able to find fabric with
baby llama's --
That's okay if you can't.
Now how do you make Baby Llama's and
mustaches work together???
She will be surprised!!!
I have finished the top, now to quilt it up and
I will show you what I did.
(who would of thought mustaches would be so popular??)

New Queen Quilt

Good Morning!!

This is just a simple quilt I made - I wanted to try
something with Big random blocks.
(looks like I forgot to take a tag off of a pillow- oops)

I think it makes a nice winter quilt
for the quest room!

A Finished Top

When I saw this fabric I knew I wanted a quilt for myself
out of it.
The teal, lime green and grey looked so nice together
not to mention the print of the fabric.
So I went into EQ and put something together
and bought some fabric to play along with it.

Then I just couldn't bring myself to chop the print up.
I didn't want to loose any of the design
so.....
this is what I did instead.
it is simple but I like this much better.
Now to get it loaded and quilted...
hummm.....
what do I quilt on it?????

Snowflakes for Sandy Hook and 1st Sunset of 2013 on the Beach

I hope this was a good day for everyone. I just have a feeling that this is going to be a good year.
It has to be better then last year - Right???

I made some snowflakes for the children at Sandy Hill.
I really hoped to make more but ran out of time.
If you haven't already heard about the winter wonderland
you can read all about it here

Embroidery Library offered this snowflake in thee sizes for
free last month

this one is free

and this one from

and now that I went to that link I see that I am a little slow
I found this update.

Thank you to everyone who has donated snowflakes on behalf of the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School and the community of Newtown. We know that each snowflake represents the emotional outreach of the person making it. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from around not just the country but the world. At this time, we have enough beautiful snowflakes to blanket the community of Newtown. Therefore, with regret we must close the snowflake project to further donations

But that is Great News right?
People are Wonderful.

so I guess I have a head start on snowflakes for my Christmas tree next year.

now I will leave you with the first sun set of 2013 here on the beach
as you can see here in this picture we have some fog
and cloud's so we won't be able to see it
set on the water
but it is still beautiful
and there it goes
